EXPERIENCE

.............

An award-winning art director, entrepreneur and humanitarian, Maria Petrenko was born in a small village near the Russian city Taganrog.  Upon completing her degree in Information Systems in Economics at Taganrog State University, she moved to the United States to pursue a career in Marketing Management and Advertising.  In 2000, Maria received her Masters Degree in Advertising from Michigan State University. Over the course of the next five years, she aided development of many local, national and international brands, working in different agencies; including Cox Advertising in New York City, Strategic Interactive in Lansing and Adams Outdoor Advertising in Ann Arbor.  In 2005, Maria joined forces with a friend and advertising media guru Amy Grambeau to create Orange Egg Advertising; a conceptually different, award-winning, full-service advertising agency.

Incorporating her degree in Information Systems in 2009, Ms. Petrenko founded Hadrout Design for Business, Orange Egg’s sister company, to provide state-of-the-art information technology, creative and web services for small to medium-sized businesses and start-ups.  A year later, Hadrout Advertising won its first Addy Award for a consumer website.  During her career, Maria received a number a different awards, including Addys for an advertising campaign, outdoor advertising, political campaign, web-design, public service and an AdWheel Award.

Not your average graphic designer, Maria knows business and how to nourish it to success. A creative entrepreneur, she has interest in and/or co-founded several successful retail operations and online start-ups.  She is also heavily involved in working with several Detroit non-profit organizations and is a big supporter/spokesperson for city redevelopment.

While business is where Maria’s mind is, her heart is into something quite the opposite.  An ambassador for Habitat for Humanity International and International Global Village Team leader, she has lead and participated in a number of projects aimed to eliminate homelessness and poverty housing in Haiti, Africa and India.
